Find Ways To Create Your Habits
2/27/2008
I seem to always try to find ways to create a habit for myself. I know there are certain things I should be doing but I find myself forgetting to get them done. For instance, right now I'm training to run a half-marathon. I know I need to increase my flexibility while I'm training. I tend to forget to strech any other time than when I'm working out.
To solve this problem, I now link one action that I'm use to doing with the new action I am working towards making a habit.
I find an activitiy that I do daily like showering or making my bed. After this normal activity I add the new item afterwards. This way I link together old habits and new habits. Eventually, they'll all mold together and I'll establish my new habits fairly easily. Give it a try. See what it does for you.
